Kregg Thomas Johnson

GARDNER - Kregg Thomas Johnson, 55 of, Gardner, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at home. He was born in Gardner, on March 25, 1960, the son of the late Robert L. and the late Marie (Merrow) Johnson. Kregg grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1978. He was a direct support staff member, working in residential settings for over 25 years. This line of work was a perfect match for his patience and genuinely caring nature. He enjoyed delivering the Gardner News in his teenage years and in recent years he shared the responsibility of delivering the paper once again in his neighborhood with his son, Klark. He was an avid hockey fan and over the years he played with the Gardner Youth Hockey, various men's leagues and an Industrial league. He enjoyed skiing and almost anything that involved speed. He was good at mechanics and could take cars apart and rebuild them and only occasionally had a part or two left over that he was not sure where it went. He had the amazing ability to be able to fix anything, always helping friends & neighbors. He loved watching his nephews play their sports but his primary joy over the years has been watching his son, Klark, participate in various sports and the GHS marching band. He loved time his time at Queen Lake and the memories there are endless. He will be remembered as being kind and fun. Kregg found joy in the simple treasures of life. It was common for him to bring a rock or a leaf into the house because of its beauty. Those who knew and loved Kregg will forever look at life in a different way because of his perspective. He leaves his wife of 17 years: Christine P.(Peirce) Johnson; two sons: Klark Johnson of Gardner and Korey Johnson; one sister: LuAnn Smith and her husband James; two brothers: Kris Johnson, Kurtis Johnson and his wife Jane all of Gardner; two grandchildren; several nephews, a niece and his best friend Joey. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 12:00 pm in the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner. A private burial will be held at a later date. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10 - 12 at the funeral home.
