ATHOL - Kris Ferrari Peterson, 53, of Athol, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, after an illness. He was born in Athol on August 7, 1956, the son of the late Gilbert M. and the late Dora I. (Ferrari) Peterson. He was a lifelong resident of Athol, graduating from Athol High School with the class of 1975. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed baseball, softball, football and basketball. He was a fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics and also enjoyed playing bingo while at Quabbin Valley Healthcare. He leaves two brothers, John G. Peterson of Maine, Kent L. Peterson of Athol; five sisters, Gail D. Peterson of Leominster, Anne M. Chadwick of Athol, Joan E. Cetto of Colorado, Beth J. Cloutier of Orange, Lori P. Peterson of Methuen; four nephews, Gene Cloutier of Orange, Erik Peterson of Maine, Scott Peterson and Matthew Cetto, both of Colorado; three nieces, Nicole Cloutier of Orange, Heather Peterson of Maine, Jennifer Cetto of Colorado; several aunts, uncles, cousins and the many friends he made during his life. He was predeceased by his brother, Kurt A. Peterson on November 7, 2001, and by his sister, Jane A. Peterson, in 2002. Memorial services and burial in Silver Lake Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Quabbin Valley Healthcare Activity Fund, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, MA 01331, or American Cancer Society's New England Division Office, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. $(document).ready(function(){ });
