WENDELL: Laura Glenn Golden, 38, transitioned peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2014 in Warwick, MA. Laura was born in New York City on April 29, 1976, grew up in Connecticut, and graduated from The Hyde School in Bath, ME. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at SUNY Purchase, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2000. Laura lived and worked in Franklin County Massachusetts after finishing college. She served on the New Salem Fire Department and provided home health care services for the homebound. Laura was a gifted artist known for her paintings, collage art, and custom designed teeshirts. As an avid cyclist, Laura averaged 5000 miles per year on her beloved Orbea Orca. She participated in rides to benefit MS, and most recently completed the cycling leg of the Josh Billings Runaground Triathlon at Tanglewood in the Berkshires. Laura deeply touched many lives throughout Franklin County and beyond. Many cherished her atypical sense of humor, creativity, and her unique reinvention of the English language.
Laura is survived by her parents, Paul and Ellen Golden of Greenwich, CT, sister, Catherine Golden, nephews Terrell, Jayden, and Malachi all of Snellville, GA and her loving partner Deborah Chamberlain of Wendell. Laura will forever be remembered and sorely missed for her incredible strength, individuality, and her ever reaching helping hand.
A celebration of Laura’s life will be held at the Wendell Town Hall in Wendell Massachusetts on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 11:00-12:30, followed by continuing the celebration from 12:30-3:00 at the Deja Brew Pub in Wendell.
