Leominster- Laurent A. “Larry” Tourigny, 84, of Leominster passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the Life Care Center, Leominster. Larry was born in Sterling, MA on April 29, 1929, the son of the late Joseph A. and Alvina(Richards) Tourigny.
Larry lived in Leominster all of his life. He attended the former Saxton Trade School in Leominster and entered in the United States Navy on July 14, 1948 and served during the Korean War Conflict until July 14, 1952. He worked for the former Standard Tool & Die in Leominster for 12 years and then went on to work at Mark Tech Mold, Inc. in Leominster as a mold maker for 21 years retiring in 1991.
Larry was a member of the Franco American War Veterans of Leominster for 25 years, the Leominster Sportsman Club, and the St. Jean DE Baptist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing the piano
Larry leaves behind three sons; Ronald Tourigny and his wifeEllen of Leominster, Brian Tourigny and his wife Celeste ofGardner, and Kevin Tourigny of Westminster, three daughters; Nancy Gammell and her husband Richard of Templeton, KathyCasey and her husband Gary of Templeton, and Joan Venezianoand her husband John of Vero Beach FL, two sisters; Pauline LaPointe of CA, and Fern Bergeron of Shirley MA, eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine M. Lemay (1990), six brothers and one sister.
Calling hours will be held from the Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker St.Leominster on Sunday March 2, 2014 from 2:00pm-4:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday March 3, 2014 at 10:00am in St. Cecilia’s Church 180 Mechanic St.Leominster. Following cremation, burial will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
