Laurie A. (Swistak) Coombs

Laurie (Swistak) Coombs, 59, of Petersham died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at her home in Petersham. Laurie was born December 12, 1957 in Ware, MA. She is the daughter of Sylvia (Pheunuf) Swistak and the late Sylvester Swistak. Laurie grew up in Wheelwright and lived in Petersham for 35 Years. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was dedicated to her children and her dogs. She enjoyed flower gardening, decorating her home, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband: Todd P Coombs; her son and his wife; Robert and Jennifer Ames of Wheelwright, MA and two daughters and their husbands; Katie and Jason Shortis of Royalston, MA and Heidi and Kevin Shortis of Petersham, MA. She is also survived by her mother Sylvia and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Swistak of Hardwick, MA. Laurie was predeceased by a brother Michael Swistak and a niece Randi Swistak-Stelmokas. She leaves 5 grandchildren; Thomas Shortis, Marshall Ames, Emma Ames, Logan Shortis, and Grayson Shortis; a niece Blair Swistak-Robidoux and a great niece Morgan Stelmokas. The family has chosen to keep the services private.
