Lawrence G. Forand

Lawrence G. Forand, 65 years of age, of New Castle, PA passed away the morning of August 25, 2024 after a short illness.

Larry was born in Athol, MA to Laurence G. and Jane (Calcari) Forand. Larry was married to Nancy (Sherk) Forand for 19 years and they were together were 31 years. 

Mr. Forand was a graduate of Athol High School, class of 1977. He served five years in the Marine Corps. Larry worked for LS Starrett Co for 25 years and for the last 20 years as the National Strategic Account Manager for Wikus Saw Technology Corp. Lawrence was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at their cabin.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Larry is survived by son, Michael Benard of Fitchburg, MA; stepfather, Charles Morrow and his wife Patty of Inverness, FL; two brothers, James Forand and wife Kelly of Athol, MA, and Tim Forand and wife Barbara of Ocean Springs, WA; two sisters, Theresa Robichaud-Prue, and Marie Porter and her husband Richard of Athol, MA; sister-in-law Cathy Prue of Manchester, MA; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. 

Mr. Forand was preceded in death by both parents and brother Peter Forand. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10 am in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. Burial with military honors will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
