NEW YORK - Lenore Sophia Ivers, 54, of New York, NY, died Friday, May 30, 2008 in the St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, New York City, NY.
Lenore was born in Gardner on March 23, 1954, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Frances E. (Tawter) Ivers. She leaves two brothers, Dr. James J. Ivers with wife Gail, daughters Melissa and Katelyn, and son Jonathan of West Boylston, Massachusetts, and Paul F. Ivers with wife Sarah and two sons, Joseph and Noah of Bedford, Massachusetts.
She grew up in Gardner attending Sacred Heart School grades 1-8, then graduating from Gardner High School as Valedictorian in 1972. Upon graduation, she earned a Bachelor degree in Economics from Wellesley College, followed by an M.B.A. from Columbia University in New York.
Lenore has lived in New York City for over 32 years, building a career in the financial sector which included most recently the position of Joint Staff Pension Funds Senior Investment Officer at the United Nations, and was preceded by the positions Portfolio Manager and Director of Research at Prudential Management International, Supervisory Portfolio Administrator at Reich and Tang, and Performance Analyst at Sanford Bernstein and Company.
Her career not only fulfilled her professionally, but dovetailed with her love of travel and the arts, since it was centered in New York City and it involved international investment efforts.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 6, 2008 at 1:30 p.m at the Sacred Heart Church in Gardner. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Friday, June 6, 2008 from 12:30 p.m. at the John H. Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner.
