GARDNER- Leo Heglin, 97, of Gardner, died Tuesday, July 31, in his home, after an illness.
Leo was born January 2, 1921, son of the late Evert and Selma (Mattson) Heglin, and has lived in Gardner all his life and graduated from Gardner High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Leo was a foreman for Collier Keyworth until his retirement in 1987.
His wife of 67 years, Helen (Puustinen) Heglin, died July 21, 2014. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Earl, Ragner, John, and Melvin Heglin, and his sisters, Inez Lacasse and Edna Cantin.
He leaves four children, Danny L. Heglin of Gardner, Thomas A. Heglin of Gardner, Karen I. Greenwood of Gardner, Randall W. Heglin of Gardner; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held Friday, August 3, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. in Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
