Leslie M. Bailey

ATHOL - Leslie M. Bailey, age 90, of Athol died Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare of Athol. Leslie was born June 10, 1926 in Lynn.. He is the son of the late Leslie M. and the late Ruth (Galucia) Bailey. Leslie grew up and attended school in Athol. He served in the US Navy during WWII and continued his service in the National Guard. He was employed by J.F. McEllwain Shoe Company for over 30 years, later working for Union Twist Drill and was self employed in the cleaning business. He was a very dedicated member of the Athol congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall for over 50 years. Leslie enjoyed meeting and talking with people. He is survived by: two daughters; Jean Watts and her husband Roger and Lesley Howe both of Athol: two sons; Richard Bailey and his wife Nancy of Athol and Gary Bailey of Orange: one sister Mary Jane Leighton of WV: thirteen grandchildren: twenty great grandchildren: two great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Monday, August 22, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the Higgins-O'Connor Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
