Lien (Theresa) Le passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family in Sterling, Massachusetts in the evening of September 3, 2015. Beloved daughter of Leo Le and Nam Thi, Lien was born in the Canton province of China and thrived in Cambodia, Vietnam (Binh Hung and Saigon), and in the state of Massachusetts (Brockton, Stoughton, and Sterling). She became independent at a very early age in order to support her family in the absence of her father. She worked hard as a merchant in Vietnam and as a shoe maker in Massachusetts to provide for her family and send her children to college. She also spent many hours raising her grandchildren and tending her garden. Lien was predeceased by her father in 1940, her mother in 2012, and her grandson, Perry in 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 wonderful years, Pius Yun. Beloved mother of Vincent (Mei Ling), Eric (Stacey), Ben (Mi Mi), Yen (Paul), Julian (Purvi), and Angela (Thomas) and proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren: Sean, Alexia, Austin, Amilia, Aaron, Avianna, Lawrence, Tiffanie, Jeanie, Priscilla, Olivia, Luke, Wesley, Oliver, Jadienne, and Winston. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Thi Thi (Rose) and Thi Thi (Maria) and families. She leaves a legacy of love, strength, kindness, bravery, perseverance, compassion, and spirituality to many.
The funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, September 8, at 10:00 AM in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street inLeominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday, September 7, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street in Leominster.
