Lillian I (Forgues) Lowe

Fitchburg- Lillian I. (Forgues) Lowe, 78, of Leominster, passed away in The Highlands on Friday February 22, 2013 with her family by her side. Lillian was one of four children born on March 3, 1934 to the late Antonio Forgues and the late Bernice (Edson) Forgues. Lillian attended Fitchburg Schools and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1951, she attended Mount Wachusett Community College while raising her children and earned her LPN license and later returned to Mount Wachusett to learn secretarial skills. She worked for the former Gardner State Hospital as an LPN and changed careers when she went to work for the Fitchburg Public school Department as a Teacher’s Aide, the Fitchburg Council on Aging as a senior clerk typist, and then retired as a secretary for the 94th Regional Support Command, Office of the Commanding General at Fort Devens, MA. Lillian enjoyed bowling, music, karaoke, exploring her ancestry, genealogy, reading, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lillian had a special love for animals, especially cats. Lillian also loved spending time with her “FOREVER FRIENDS”. She leaves behind two sons, Stephen Lowe and his wife Debbie of Ashburnham, Robert Lowe and his wife Marie of Fitchburg, two daughters, Diane Fors and her husband Philip of Ashby, and Sherrianne Lugas and her husband James of Fitchburg, her grandchildren, Stephen Lowe, Jr., Courtney Lowe, Brittney Lowe, Kathryn Thomas, Thomas Littlewood Jr., Adam Hay, Mark Lugas, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves two sisters Barbara Barrett and Sandra Maulding, both of Fitchburg. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Charles Lowe, Jr., two brothers, William Forgues, and Antonio Forgues. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 for 6pm-8pm and on Tuesday February 26, 2013 from 10am-11am with a memorial service immediately following in the Simard Funeral Home,    14 Walker Street, Leominster, MA. After cremation burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg.
