ATHOL -- Lillian M. (Mailloux) Godin, 80, of 71 Western Ave., died Thursday, May 14, 2009 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Templeton. She was born in Athol, on June 5, 1928, the daughter of the late Felix and the late Catherine (Roussel) Mailloux. She lived in Athol all of her life. She was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church and the Catholic Women's League of Athol. She loved cooking, oil painting, shopping, playing bingo and traveling. Lillian especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She leaves her husband of 61 years: Valment J.Godin; one daughter, Donna Duplessie, and her husband Richard, of Athol; three sons, Ronald Godin, and his companion Jean Lawrence, of Erving, Steven Godin, and his companion Mary Field, of Northfield, Scott Godin of Athol; one sister, Evelyn Chaisson of Athol; four grandchildren, Christine O'Brien, and her husband Jeff, Tyler Duplessie, Laura Godin and Emily Godin of Athol; three great-grandchildren, Jacob O'Brien, Ryleigh O'Brien and Kaylee O'Brien of Athol and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Monday, May 18, at 10 a.m. in the Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. No calling hours are scheduled. Everyone is asked to go directly to church.
