Lillian H. Spring, age 94, of Gardner died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Baldwinville Nursing Home of Templeton, MA. Mrs. Spring was born July 9, 1921 in Gardner, MA. She is the daughter of the late Antoni and the late Helen (Kapaczewski) Gensiejewski.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Wilfred Spring, Sr. who died in 2000, her granddaughter Sara Spring who died in1995, her twin brothers, Albert and Alfred Gensiejewski, and her brother Gerald G. Gensiejewski.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the AARP Club. She was the President, CEO, Manager and the first employee of the Polish American Credit Union, now the Workers Credit Union, in Gardner, working there for 27 years. She was the President of the Montachusett Regional Credit Union Association and held many offices there.
Her hobbies include crafts, including crafts for St. Joseph's Church, millinery, reading and the computer. She enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins games in Montreal, and especially enjoyed Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots games.
She is survived by two sons: Bruce Spring and wife Sandra of Hubbardston, Wilfred J Spring Jr. and wife Carolyn of Templeton; one sister: Stacy Zanin of Gardner. She also has three grandchildren; Jeffrey Spring and his wife Diana of West Palm Beach, FL, Gregory Spring of Athol, Anthony Spring of Marlborough; two great grandchildren: Dax and Emery Spring; Sister-in-law, Linda Gensiejewski of Clarks Summit, PA; Several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 15th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 15th at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, 26 Lake Ave., East Templeton. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
