Lillie D. Dobson

GARDNER- Lillie D. (Kirkman) Dobson, 96, of Gardner, formerly of Royalston, died Friday, May 5. She was born February 14, 1921, in Royalston, daughter of the late John and Lydia (Jarvenpaa) Kirkman. Mrs. Dobson was a cook at the former Fernald School for several years. She made great pies and enjoyed Bingo. Mrs. Dobson was very active and the oldest living member of the Second Congregational Church of Royalston. Her husband, William Dobson, died in 1973. She was also predeceased by her son, Edward Dobson, and her twin brother, Ralph Kirkman. She leaves two daughters, Joyce Neale and her husband, Duane of Royalston, and Donna White of New Port Richey, FL; one son, Richard Dobson of Morganton, NC; nine grandchildren, Charles White, Melody Gibbons, Todd Neale, Travis Dobson, Tricia Cummings, Rod Dobson, Alex Dobson, Adrian Dobson, and Tara Dobson; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude Parnanen of Gardner; several nieces and nephews; and her Church family. A calling hour will be held Monday, May 15, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. with the funeral starting at 2:00 P.M. at the Second Congregational Church, 3 School St., Royalston. MA. Burial will be private.
