GARDNER - Linda Maki of 402 Parker Street, Gardner, passed away at the early age of 48 on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at her home.
Linda was born in Gardner on December 28, 1962, the daughter of Donald and Betty (Norcross) Maki of Templeton. She was raised in Templeton and graduated from Westminster Mini School. Over the years she worked in several different fields but she specialized in fun. Known for surrounding herself with family and friends, Linda enjoyed life to the fullest. Whether it was fishing, porch parties, playground adventures or marathons in Scrabble, there was never a dull moment.
In addition to her parents, she leaves a son, Steven T. Crabtree of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Gizmo M. Maki of Gardner; two brothers, Ronald Maki, Sr., John Maki both of Templeton; a sister, Deborah Maki of Gardner; nieces and nephews, Brandy Maki of Leominster, Rebecca Maki of Athol, Ronald Maki, Jr. of Gardner, Esther Belliveau of San Antonio, TX; two great nieces and two great nephews; a boyfriend, Thomas Dufour and many dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon Street, Gardner. This will not be a traditional service but a celebration of an amazing woman who would want just that. Family members and friends will be speaking at 6:15, if you would like to share something on Linda's behalf please contact Steven and/or Brandy upon your arrival and requests may be accommodated. As it is not the intention to create a depressing funeral setting, please do not feel obligated to dress like it is.
Linda will be missed tremendously and never forgotten. As she was always there for the people she loved, we hope they will be there for her one more time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Gardner Animal Shelter, 95 Pleasant St., Room 29, Gardner, MA 01440.
