Linda S. (Willard) Woods

Linda S. Woods Athol – Linda S. (Willard) Woods, 65, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at home.      Linda was born September 15, 1948 in Gardner, Massachusetts, the daughter of William E. and Roberta B. (Holloway) Willard, Sr.  She grew up in Athol where she has lived all of her life, graduating from Athol High School in 1967.        Linda owned and operated A & L Property Management for over 25 years.  She had previously worked at TAC Medical for many years.        She was a foster mother for many years, helping many children get a better start in their life.  Linda enjoyed antiques, going to auctions, flea markets, tag sales and eating out with her mother.        She leaves her mother, Roberta Willard; two brothers, Jerome Willard and his wife Ingrid of Orange and Jeffrey Willard of Athol; two nieces, Octavia Brooks and her husband Trevor and Christen Willard; a grandniece, Harper Brooks and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was predeceased by a brother, William Willard, Jr., her father, William “Dudley” Willard, Sr. and her pet dog Pumpkin.      A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol with the Rev. Fr. William Hobbs, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church officiating.  There will be a calling hour from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Linda’s name be made to the Gardner VNA Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440 or the Athol Animal Shelter, for animal care, c/o Athol Police Department, 280 Exchange Street, Athol, MA 01331.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to:  www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
