Lois L. Dugan Athol  â€“  Lois L. (Ewell) Dugan, 87, of 416 Main St. passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17th at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.      Lois was born on July 9, 1926 in Montague, Massachusetts, daughter of Robert L. and Blanche L. (Spencer) Ewell.  Lois grew up and lived all of her life in Athol, graduating from Athol High School in 1944.  On September 1, 1945 she married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Bertram Dugan Jr.  They had been married for 48 years when Bert passed away in 1994.      Lois worked now and then at various office positions, but was primarily a mother and homemaker.  She was a member of the Athol Congregational Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, trips to the casino, reading and spending time on her computer.  Lois spent countless hours sewing and knitting for her young family – and she was also an avid Red Sox fan.      Lois leaves her family – daughters Sharon Smith and her husband Harry of Orange, Jane Dugan-Yantosca and her husband Anthony of North Haven, CT, and her sons David Dugan and his wife Ana Liza of Kingsland, Georgia and Paul Guimond and his wife Terry Burnham of Royalston.  She also leaves her grandchildren and great-grandchildren – Daniel Smith, his wife Kim and their son Kyle of Orange; Rebecca Smith Badgley, her husband Keith and their children Taylor, Amanda, Ryan and Joseph of Orange; Casey Yantosca of Latchmont, NY, Kathleen Yantosca of Somerville, MA and Kelsey Yantosca of Princeton, NJ; Joseph and Jared Dugan of Kingsland, GA; and Rhetta and Beau Guimond of Royalston.  Lois also leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Besides her husband Bert she was predeceased by her brother Donald R. Ewell and his wife Claire of Athol.      Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd at 11:00am at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol  with the Rev. Dr. Beverly Prestwood-Taylor, pastor of the Athol Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery and there will be a calling hour from 10:00am until the time of the service.      In lieu of flowers, Lois has requested that memorial donations be made to the Athol Public Library, 584 Main St, Athol or to the Athol High School Scholarship Fund - Class of 1944, P.O.
