Lori A. Studt Athol, Ma. - Lori A. (Handy) Studt, 49, of 425 Wallingford Avenue passed away August 5, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends after her courageous battle with cancer.  Lori, daughter of Roy E. and Shirley (Bashaw) Handy, Jr. was born September 12, 1961 in Holden, Massachusetts and grew up in Hubbardston graduating from Quabbin Regional High School in 1980 and later graduating from the New England School of Accounting.  She lived in Gardner for many years and has lived in Athol for the last four years with her partner Peter Dunnington and youngest son, Benjamin.  She was most recently employed by Gardner CAC and previously employed by Walmart, GBG Propane Company and was a real estate agent for Quality Real Estate. Lori was a member of Cradle Rock Chapter 125 Order of Eastern Star and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Gardner.  She was an avid reader and loved painting acrylic scenes.  She greatly enjoyed spending time with her three children and Peter D. and her pet dog, Midas.  She always looked forward to the gatherings and bon fires with her family and friends, including her seven siblings. Lori is survived by her children, Eric Studt, SJ of Munich, Germany, Zachary Studt of New York City, NY and Benjamin Studt of Athol; her partner of ten years Peter Dunnington; seven sisters and brothers: Jane Whitmore of Athol, Wayne Handy of Hubbardston, Brian Handy and his wife Gail of Barre, Warren Handy of Gardner, Walter Handy and his wife Mary Jane of Ashburnham, Paula Stasukelis and her husband Dick of Hubbardston and Karen Roth and her  husband Richard of Littleton along with 13 nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 10 AM at Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, Massachusetts with burial to follow at Rural Glen Cemetery in Hubbardston, Massachusetts.
