Lorraine M (Gaudette) Guichard

GARDNER - Lorraine M. (Gaudet) Guichard, 78, of Gardner, passed away at home on Wednesday June 5th after a long courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Fitchburg on May 25, 1935 to the late Phillip Gaudet and the Late Madelaine (LeBlanc) Gaudet. Lorraine grew up and attended Fitchburg Schools. She married her husband of 58 years, Roland Guichard on April 19, 1955 and was blessed with five children. She later returned to attend nursing school at Gardner State Hospital and earned her LPN degree with the class of 1972. Lorraine went on to work for Gardner State Hospital as well as the Fairlawn Nursing Home, the former Birchwood Manor Nursing Home and then retired from Burbank Hospital in 1993 after 25 years of dedicated service. Lorraine enjoyed spending much of her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and spending time with her craft circle friends. She was well known to the family for always having a camera ready for them to pose for pictures. Her love of God was celebrated by her at Holy Spirit Church in Gardner and Redemption Rock Church in Westminster. Lorraine leaves behind her husband Roland Guichard of Gardner, two sons; Roland E. Guichard, Jr. and his wife Irene of Merrimack, NH, Brian E Guichard and his wife Argentina of Chelmsford, three daughters; Sharon M. Griffin and her husband Ronald of Leominster, Laurie A. Arsenault and her husband Gerard of Stow, and Linda J. Anderson and her husband Mark of Ashburnham, two brothers; Phillip Gaudet and his wife Lucille of Fitchburg, and Ernest J Gaudet and his wife Claudette of Fitchburg, eleven grandchildren; Timothy, Daniel, and Jeffrey Guichard, Thomas and Julie Griffin, Jay and Megan Mendonca, Kelley Perreira, Beth Crossman, and Mark and Kevin Anderson, and eight great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be private. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 12, 2013 at 11:00am in the Massachusetts Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA. Burial will follow in the memorial cemetery. The family asks that all who plan on attending to please meet at the cemetery.
