Lorraine G. Harrigan

LORRAINE G. (MORAN) HARRIGAN ATHOL- Lorraine G. (Moran) Harrigan, 75, of 739 Daniel Shays Highway, died Sunday, June 9, 2002 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, following an illness. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Francis W. Harrigan; a son Francis Harrigan and his wife Suzanne of Gardiner, Maine; two grandchildren, Alison Harrigan and Kyle Harrigan; a sister, Pauline Gravelle of Westminster; and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Leominster, April 27, 1927, a daughter of William and Stella (Begnoche) Moran, and was raised in Fitchburg. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School. She lived many years in Pearl River, New York before coming to Athol in 1986. Mrs. Harrigan was assistant manager of the Monsey branch of the Bank of New York, retiring in 1984. Previously, she worked for the Rockland County National Bank in Pearl River, New York, and the Safety Fund National Bank in Fitchburg. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, and at one time was a member of the Pearl River NY Junior Woman's Club. She enjoyed crocheting quilts and liked music. A Memorial Mass will be held in St. Francis of Assisi Church at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. J.
