Lorraine P. LaFond

LEOMINSTER - Lorraine P. (Lamoureux) LaFond, 79, of 307 Spruce St., Leominster, died Friday, February 13, 2009 in the Lifecare Center of Leominster. She was born in Leominster on October 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Edmund and the late Irene (Lachance) Lamoureux. Mrs. LaFond grew up in Leominster and graduated from Leominster High School with the class of 1947. She worked at Cluets Shirt Shop many years ago, and was later employed by Eusey Press until her retirement in 1991. Mrs. LaFond lived in Michigan for three years before returning to Leominster. She was a communicant of Saint Cecilia's Church in Leominster. She was a former member of the women's barbershop group, Chordelles. She volunteered her time to the ARC and was on the Human Rights Committee for several years. She leaves three daughters, Lynn L. Malanson of Westford, Joan M. Pantano of Leominster, Jane A. LaFond of Leominster; one son, Mark A. LaFond of Leominster; one sister, Madeleine Boucher of Frostproof, FL; one brother, Alcide Lamoureux of Leominster; six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Albert D. LaFond, who died December 16, 2007, and by her brother, Edward Lamoureux. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster.
