Lorraine C. Simard

LEOMINSTER - Lorraine C. (Belanger) Simard, 80 of 23 Kendall Hill Rd., Leominster, died Sunday, December 9, 2007 in the The Highlands Nursing Home, Fitchburg. She was born in Fitchburg, on September 8, 1927, the daughter of the late John and the late Rachael (Guillmette) Belanger. She grew up in Leominster and graduated form Leominster High School. Mrs. Simard worked in the loan department at the Leominster Savings Bank and the Worcester County National Bank and Shawmut Bank. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. She lived in Port Charolette, FL for the past ten years She was a member of the Leominster and the Port Charlotte, FL. Elks and the Moose Club in Port Charlotte, FL. Lorraine loved her family dearly. She was a devoted wife, compassionate Mother and a caring and loving grandmother. She took great pleasure in being a homemaker and was an accomplished seamstress. Lorraine enjoyed people and made many friends during the several years she worked in the load department of a number of local banks. She will be greatly missed by family and friends however her memory will forever warm the heart of those who knew and loved her. She leaves her husband of 59 years, J. Arthur Simard, three daughters, Andrea R. Munderloh of Westfield, MA, Adele L. Bodanza and husband Mark of Leominster, Celeste A Kandawalla of Bradington, FL and one son, David A Simard and wife Lisa of Leominster; one brother: Paul Belanger and wife Cecile of Chelmsford; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Theresa Poirier and her husband Lawrence. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, December 14, 2007 at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in her memory to the NationalStroke Association, 9707 E Easter Lane Building B, Centennial, CO 80112.
