LEOMINSTER - Louis N. Anctil, 86, of 36 Cherry Street, Leominster, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Canada on November 4, 1923, the son of the late Joseph and Celina Anctil.
Mr. Anctil was a resident of Leominster for over seventy years and owned and operated his own carpentry business, Anctil Construction and Anctil Realty. He enjoyed planting, gardening and refurbishing trunks and clocks. Mr. Anctil held a pilot's license and proudly flew his own plane to spend many winters in Clearwater, Florida with his wife, Therese. He also enjoyed traveling to various destinations over the years, including Hawaii, Alaska, Australia and Russia
He leaves two sons, Denis Anctil and his wife Valerie (Frye), Donald Anctil and his wife Diana (Doane); three daughters, Nicole Vitone, Carmen Cormier and her husband Douglas, Julie Penzabene, all of Leominster; three sisters, Rachel Anctil, Carmel Anctil and Laurance Anctil all of Canada; twelve grandchildren, Dan Vitone and his wife Lori (Charon), Mike Vitone, Dianna Lyn Beland and her husband Rob, Celena Anctil, Sarah Pilesky and her husband Anthony, Victoria Stutzman and her husband Christian, Hannah Anctil, Rachel Anctil, all of Leominster, Matthew Anctil of Worcester, Kristine Tata and her husband Adam of Fitchburg, Scott Cormier of Boston, Cristina Penzabene of Florida; eleven great-grandchildren, Bryce Louis Vitone, Cameron Michael Vitone, Joshua Daniel Vitone, Tyler Christopher Vitone, Leah Nicole Vitone, Anya Love Beland, Ella Rose Beland, Barret Joseph Stutzman, Chloe Therese Stutzman, Gianna Nicole Marie Tata, Ava Champagne Pilesky, all of Leominster; his favorite caregiver of many years, Cynthia Vaillancourt; also many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty years, Therese (Champagne) Anctil, on December 6, 2008; and by four brothers, Roger Anctil, Gabriel Anctil, Maurice Anctil and Paul Anctil.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.
Calling hours will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
