GARDNER - Louis G. Miller, Jr., 82 of 12 Maynard St., Gardner, died Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner. He was born in Leominster on April 8, 1928, the son of the late Louis G. Miller and the late Blanche (Davis) Miller. Mr. Miller grew up in Leominster and was educated in Leominster. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He moved to Gardner in 1963 and owned and operated Miller's Garage until 1988. He continued to work at the garage with his son Ronald until August of 2010. He was a member of the Gardner American Legion and the Jaffrey Ice Racing Association for many years. He enjoyed bird watching and being outdoors. He traveled extensively and went cross country twice. He especially enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Doris (Caouette) Miller who died January 2nd of this year. He leaves one daughter: Patricia A Gelsomini and her husband Ricci J. of Winchendon; two sons: Ronald L. Miller and his wife Celeste of Gardner, Michael J. Miller of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren: Stephen Miller, Shelley McCaie, Lynn C. McAvene and Todd M. Constantine; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Miller of Leominster and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Rita Bouchard, Madeline Anderson, Barbara Hebert and by one brother, Richard Miller. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made in his memory to a charity of one's choice.
