Louisa A. (Ferrari) Gelinas

Louisa A. Gelinas Orange – Louisa A. (Ferrari) Gelinas, 93, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at her home.      Louisa was born in Orange, Massachusetts, July 24, 1919, the daughter of Augostino and Mansuetta (DeGara) Ferrari.  She has lived in Orange all of her life and attended Orange schools.  She worked at the Union Twist Drill, McElwain Shoe Shop and the Orange Pant and Coat Shop.      Louisa loved to be home cooking, crocheting, taking care of her grandchildren and playing the piano.  She was a very family oriented person and enjoyed the family getting together.  She loved to have card parties, go to tag sales and picnics at the former Twisters Fun Club.      Her husband of 47 years, Charles E. Gelinas died in 1987.  She also leaves two sons; Edward Gelinas and his wife Claire and Wayne Gelinas and his wife Linda, both of Orange; four grandchildren, Michael and his Fiancé Shelley, Tim Gelinas and his wife Stephanie, Eric Cole and his wife Jody and Chad Gelinas; three great-grandchildren, Austin and Alex Gelinas and Garrett Cole; two brothers, Gene Ferrari of Athol and Joseph Ferrari of Wycliffe, OH; three sisters, Norma Caranci of Barre, Nellie Madden of Amherst and Nancy Gates of Athol and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her daughter Beverly Cole in 1989; a brother, Arthur Ferrari and a sister, Josephine Sahagian.      At Louisa’s request there are no formal services planned.  She will later be buried at South Cemetery in Orange.   Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol is directing arrangements.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com.   $(document).ready(function(){ });
