Orange- Louise “Topsie” Piragis of Orange passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.
Louise was born in Milford, NH to the late Adelard Picard and Louise (Martin) Picard.
Louise and her late husband, Albine, owned and operated Piragis Variety in Athol from 1973-1985. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and knitting. She raised race horses, enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and loved cardinals.
She is survived by sons; James Piragis and his wife Hope of Gardner, Dennis Piragis and his wife Julie of Athol, Roy Piragis and his companion Dee Zichella of Athol, and John Piragis of East Lempster, NH. Brothers; Martin Picard and his wife Diane of Orange. Grandchildren; Ann Piragis, Deborah Blanchard and her husband Michael, Jaime Hume and her husband Lorne, Ryan Piragis and his wife Sarah, Brian Piragis, David Piragis, Samantha Piragis, and Jessica Piragis. Great-Grandchildren; Julia and Edgar Blanchard, Colby, Logan, and Gabriel Hume and Kacie and Avery Piragis. As well as several nieces and nephews including Jane Picard of Athol, Leon Cameron of Jacksonville, FL and Cathy Paine from New Salem.
She was predeceased by her husband Albine Piragis, brothers; Alfred “Pete” Picard and James Picard, who passed during WWII. Sisters; Jean Krumdick and Leah Cameron.
There will be no calling hours, a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11AM at the Winchendon Veteran’s Cemetery.
