Louise Salter

BALDWINVILLE - Louise J (Treadwell) Salter, 92, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, January 4, 2021 at Alliance Health of Baldwinville. She was born in Prentiss, Maine, on February 6, 1928, the daughter of the late Millage and the late Geneva (Burke) Treadwell. She moved to central Massachusetts in 1949 to attend cosmetology school. She married Herbert Salter in 1954 and raised her family in the Lunenburg area. Louise was also a gifted seamstress, well known by her family, friends and neighbors for her sewing skills. She moved to Gardner in 1998, where she volunteered for many years at Waterford Street School. After "retiring" from school, Louise continued to volunteer preparing meals at the Highrise in Gardner until 2019. She leaves a son, Gary Salter and his wife Janet of Gardner; a daughter, Nancy Partridge and her husband Jay of Waynesville, NC; a sister, Colleen Worster of Maine and two grandchildren, Andrea Salter and David Salter. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert W. Salter who passed in 1972. Funeral services will be private.
