ATHOL - Lucille E. Gilgut, 90 of 739 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, died Monday, October 15, 2007 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol. She was born in Gardner, on September 15, 1917, the daughter of the late Dr. Charles S. and the late Alice (Harwood) Brouillet. Mrs. Gilgut graduated from Athol High School in 1936. Besides raising four children, she was employed many years at Moskovitz Women's Shop. She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church and a member of the former Catholic Women's League. She was active for many years in the Athol Bird Club and was always interested in the beauties of nature. She was a member of the auxiliary of Athol Memorial Hospital and she enjoyed the many friendships in the Riverbend Woods senior community. She was an enthusiastic Boston Red Sox fan. She leaves her husband of 69 years, Thomas J.Gilgut, three daughters, Ann Marie Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Lynn Boudreau of Orange, Stephanie Gilgut of Troy, NY and one son, Thomas J. Gilgut, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY; six grandchildren and four great grandsons. She was predeceased by two brothers, Paul Brouillet and Raymond Brouillet, and by three sisters, Jeanne Bedard Fournier, Norma Brouillet and Rita Regis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 19, 2007 at 10:00 am in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Our Lady Immaculate Church - Building Fund, 192 School St., Athol, MA 01331 or to the Athol Memorial Hospital, 2033 Main St., Athol, MA 01331.
