Lucille L. (Laperle) Bailey

Lucille L. Bailey Athol – Lucille (Laperle) Bailey, 82, of 153 South Athol Road, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare surrounded by her loving family.      She was born October 8, 1928 in Gilbertville, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Oscar and Edna (Fontaine) Laperle.  Lucille grew up in Sherbrooke, New Brunswick, Canada where she attended schools, moving to Athol in 1943.        Lucille worked at the N.D. Cass Company and the McElwain Shoe Shop for several years.  She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and her family was the highlight of her life.        She leaves her husband of 64 years, Leslie M. Bailey; two sons, Richard Bailey and his wife Nancy of Athol and Gary Bailey of Orange; two daughters, Lesley Howe and Jean Watts and her husband Roger, both of Athol and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Ronald Laperle.        A calling hour will be held Friday, April 22, 2011 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol.  Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  The family suggests those wishing to make a donation in Lucille’s name may be made to the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Dana Unit, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, MA 01331 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.    For further information or to share a memory with the family go to:  www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com.   $(document).ready(function(){ });
