LEOMINSTER - Lucy (Sardo) "Lucia" Piermarini, 84, of 62 Lincoln Terrace, Leominster, died on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the River Terrace Healthcare in Lancaster. She leaves two daughters, Carol Booth and her husband Frank of Leominster, Nora Piermarini of San Francisco, CA; one sister, Maria Baldassarre and her husband Joseph of Leominster; sister-in-law, Rosalie Lamanna and her husband Gabriel of Leominster; two grandchildren, Lauren Booth and Gregory Booth both of Leominster; three nephews, one niece, many cousins, and her best friends, Lucy Ciccolini, Gilda Mella and Helen Seretto. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly sixty years, Desiderio "Chuck" Piermarini and by her brother, Joseph Sardo. Lucy was born in Sicily, Italy, on October 20, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Catherine (Pirrera) Sardo. She was raised and educated in Sicely, Italy and moved to Leominster sixty-two years ago. She worked for the Foster Grant Company later going to work as an inspector at Digital Corporation for fifteen years. Mrs. Piermarini was a communicant of St. Anna's Church in Leominster. She was a skilled seamstress and made most of her family's clothing and also enjoyed cooking. She also cared for her husband until his death in May 1, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anna's Church, 194 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster.
