ATHOL - Marcellino V. Erali, 100 of 121 Orange St., Athol, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol.
He was born in Sherman, Vermont, on March 15, 1910, the son of the late Antimio and the late Francesca (Fariea) Erali.
Marcellino attended schools in Sherman, VT and attended night school in Pittsfield, MA.
He worked for many years as a private contractor in the Athol and Gardner area. He was the superintendent when the Athol Memorial Hospital was first built.
He was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church, the Disabled American Veterans in Athol, the A.A.R.P. in FL, the AFL Carpenters Union, the Athol Golden Agers and the New England Club in Florida.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He leaves one daughter; Janet Soucie and her husband Lawrence of North Brookfield; one son, Michael F. Erali and his wife Linda of Orange; a step daughter, Patricia Gagliardi of Hudson, NH; three step sons, Robert A. Henry of Southbury, CT; Thomas K. Henry of Athol, James M. Henry of Orange; two brothers, Dominic Erali of Salt Lake City, Utah, Rudolph Erali of Pittsfield; one sister, Delina Gendron of Athol; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 43 years, Cecile M. (Brouillet) Erali who died in 1979; by his second wife of 17 years, Regina C. (Henry) Erali who died in 2002; by two brothers, Peppino Erali, Wallace Erali; and by six sisters, Almina Francese, Mary Labombarde, Nita Gozzelino, Cleofe Roussel, Lillian Dubay and Gilda Mears.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
