Marcia D. Hastings
Orange – Marcia D. (Savoy) Hastings, 67, of 55 Spring Street, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare surrounded by her loving family.
Marcia was born in Athol, May 26, 1944, the daughter of Ishmael M. and Irene O. (Daigle) Savoy. She grew up in Athol and attended Athol schools. In 1976 she moved to the Berkshires to attend Bible College and lived there for 17 years. Marcia later moved to Baltimore, MD where she also attended Bible College and since 1999 has resided in Orange.
Marcia’s love for the Lord Jesus Christ and studying the Word of God and her church the Athol-Orange Baptist Church has been the highlight of her life. She hopes that “Through my life and death I hope that some have and would receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior by just asking Jesus to give them eternal life and He will do it.†In her younger years Marcia enjoyed skiing, backpacking, hiking, horseback riding, owning her own horses and shooting. She also enjoyed working on the computer and PS2 games. Marcia worked at the Athol Memorial Hospital as an operating room assistant.
She leaves the love of her life, her husband of 12 years, George E. Hastings, Jr.; two daughters, Diana M. Deveneau of Orange and Terry Ingargiola of TN; four step-sons, Michael Hastings of VT, James Hastings of AZ, Gary Hastings of Phillipston and Christopher Hastings of England; two step-daughters, Candy Puntanen of Hubbardston and Melissa Cormier of Templeton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Joann Wheeler of Orange and Dolly Euvrard of Athol.
