ATHOL - Margaret (Peggy) A. Litchfield, 63 of 138 Cottage St., Athol, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol with her family by her side. She was born in Winchendon, on February 7, 1945, the daughter of the late Victor and the late Virginia (Ferrari) Litchfield. Peggy graduated from Athol High School in 1963 where she participated in theater arts and was a cheerleader. She worked for many years as a medical transcriber at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and at the Winchendon Health Center. She was a talented photographer and a member of the Wachusett Camera Club. She received many awards at photography competitions throughout New England. Later she developed a real passion for antiques and collectibles. She spent countless hours hunting for and researching rarities and presenting them on Ebay and at several local antique shops. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and had a special connection with her nieces. She leaves her brother Jerry Litchfield of Belchertown and his wife Bridgit, her sister Linda Cotter of Athol and her husband John and their two daughters Caitlin and Meaghan and her fiance Dean Nelson; her brother Mike Litchfield of Winchester and his wife Brenda Johnson and their two daughters Carly and Celia; her brother Shawn Litchfield of Athol and his wife Alicia and their daughter Taziana, her stepmother Barbara Henault of Jaffrey, NH and her husband Andre; four step brothers, Donnie Bushee and Alan Bushee of Winchendon, Todd Bushee of Athol and his wife Judy and their daughters, Brittany and Danyelle Grummell and her husband Alan and their children Jayden and Kyra; Ty Bushee of Royalston, and his fiance Holly and his daughter Amber; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 11:00 am in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the GVNA Hospice, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, Ma. 01440 or QVHC Activities Fund, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, Ma. 01331.
