GARDNER - Margaret Rita (Blood) Bujnicki, age 90, formerly of Jackson Park, Gardner MA entered into eternal rest on September 9, 2015 with her daughters by her side.
Margaret’s husband of 66 years, Stanley Bujnicki, passed away July 2014.
She leaves her two daughters, Eleanor Hagwood, wife of Clifford Hagwood and Patricia Bujnicki Peck, wife of Steven Peck. She also leaves two grandchildren, James Stanley Larrabee and Lauren Hagwood Stinnett, nieces, nephews, cousins and great grandchildren.
Margaret was born to the late Roger P. Blood and Eleanor D. (Burke) Blood Morze. She was also predeceased by her sister Kathleen Kanicki.
Margaret graduated from Gardner High School in 1943 and continued her education with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Fitchburg State Teachers College.
She taught first grade in South Royalton and then at School Street School in Gardner. After marrying Stanley she taught school in Rehoboth MA while Stanley was continuing his education at Brown University. When the family returned to Gardner she began teaching first and second grade at School Street School and Prospect Street School in Gardner MA.
Margaret was a gifted and dedicated teacher who was admired by her students. She retired from the school system in 1982. Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She also served as a Trustee of the Levi Heywood Memorial Library and was a member of the Library Association and the Gardner Museum.
Margaret was an avid traveler. She explored the world with her family and friends. Margaret and Stanley enjoyed many trips together including yearly excursions to the Bahamas with one journey including the entire family to celebrate the couples’ fiftieth wedding anniversary. Margaret also celebrated Easter Sunday with Pope John Paul II in St. Peter’s Square and traveled to London on the Concorde with a return to the US on the QE2.
She was a very generous person and loving wife and mother. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and students.
There are no calling hours. A service will be held at John H. Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon Street, Gardner MA on Monday September 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM.
