Margaret E. Coolidge

ATHOL - Margaret E. (Preble) Coolidge, 85 of 531 Pleasant St., Athol, died Thursday, December 21, 2006, at home. She was born in Petersham, on December 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Ruth (Barnes) Preble. Mrs. Coolidge grew up in Petersham and graduated from Petersham High School in 1939. She was recently honored as the oldest alumna present at the next-to-the-last Petersham High School Alumni Association reunion held this year in Petersham. Margaret was a Registered Nurse, employed by Athol Memorial Hospital in the maternity ward from the wards opening until it's closing in 1974. She retired from Athol Memorial Hospital in 1983. She was a member of the Worcester Hahnemann Hospital Alumni Association. Margaret loved traveling and dancing. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister she leaves one daughter, Nancy L. Adams and her husband Clifford of Athol; one son, Bradford Coolidge and his wife Betsy of Athol; five grandchildren, Sandra Hamlett; Susan Adams, Michael Allen, Roger Coolidge, Ryan Coolidge; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Evan; two sisters, Dorothy Rowe of Gardner, and Evelyn Bouchard of Athol; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger E. Coolidge who died in 1981. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 23, 2006, at 11:00 am in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol. Burial will be private in Hardwick Cemetery, Petersham. Calling hours will be held Saturday, December 23, 2006, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol.
