ATHOL - Margaret H. (MacEwen) Clifford, 85 of Athol, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at her daughter’s home, following an illness.    She was born in Phillipston, MA, on July 2, 1929, the daughter of the late Lawrence and the late Mabel (Nowlin) MacEwen.    She was a secretary, employed by Phillipston school system.    Margaret grew up and attended schools in Phillipston and Athol, graduating from Athol High School in 1946.  She worked in the office at the L. S. Starrett Company and in the office of the Phillipston School system.  She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Phillipston Congregational Church.      She leaves one daughter: Carol J. Erickson and her husband, Brian of Hubbardston, MA; one son: Lawrence A. Clifford and his wife, Sheila of Waltham, MA; one sister: H. Laurel Killian of Phillipston, MA; two brothers: L. Keith MacEwen of Phillipston, MA, Richard MacEwen of Marlboro, MA; five grandchildren: Shauna Zoldak-Castilleja, Adam Zoldak, Kristen Beevers, Shaun Clifford, and Ryan Clifford.    She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Clifford in 1983, and two brothers, William MacEwen, and Donald MacEwen.    Funeral services will be held at Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Fiske      Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol.
