Margaret Ann "Peggy" (Newton) Christiansen

ATHOL- Margaret (“Peggy”) Ann (Newton) Christiansen, 57, of Athol, died Sunday, February 16, in Heywood Hospital. She was born March 17, 1956, in Athol, daughter of Rita J. (Seskas) Newton and the late Theodore H. Newton. Peggy graduated from Athol High School in 1974. She was a life-long resident of Athol and had previously worked for The L. S. Starrett Company and Hannaford Supermarket. Peggy loved her family and her cats. She also enjoyed traveling and gardening. Besides her mother, Rita J. Newton of Athol, she leaves her husband Michael G. Christiansen.  Peggy and Mike met in 1985 while working at Starretts and were married in 1995.  Peggy also leaves one daughter, Carla Strom of Ocean Springs, MS; two grandchildren, Casey and Sarah Stork of MS; two brothers, Joseph Newton and his wife, Sharon of Athol, and Daniel Newton and his husband, Christopher Flynn of Boston; one sister, Christine Wilson and her husband, Barry Meehan of Orange. Close friends are invited for calling hours this Thursday, February 20 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange.  Funeral will be private.
