Margaret Mary "Peg" (Rossi) Roy was a beacon of compassion, a wellspring of talent, and a paragon of generosity, passed away on May 9, 2024.
Margaret was born on December 8, 1924, in Orange, MA, the daughter of Angelo and Katherina (Varoli) Rossi. Margaret's journey took her from the classrooms of Orange High School where she graduated to the School of Nursing at Heywood Hospital, where she would leave an indelible mark. Her legacy lives on, inspiring countless individuals who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
Margaret dedicated her life to nursing, serving as the Operating Room Supervisor at Heywood Hospital for over 40 years. Her compassionate nature and unparalleled talent were evident in her unwavering commitment to her patients. Mother Teresa once said, "It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving." This quote perfectly encapsulates Margaret's approach to her work and her life. Always generous with her time and resources, she was a member of the former Gardner Women's Club, the Library Association, and the Alumni Association of Heywood Hospital, contributing immensely to her community.
Margaret's love story with her late husband, Herve Roy, was one of shared dreams and mutual respect, leaving a beautiful legacy in their daughter Deborah Luppi and her husband Lawrence.
Margaret was the cherished sister of the late Louis Rossi, Reno Rossi, and Josephine Lorussso, and the beloved daughter of the late Angelo and Katherina (Varoli) Rossi. Her family was her pride, and she was their guiding star, forever inspiring them with her strength and determination.
Margaret's life was a testament to the remarkable power of love, compassion, and generosity. She will be missed, yet her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
