Margaret E. Scarrell

WINCHENDON - Margaret E. (Chase) Scarrell, 91 died peacefully at home Tuesday morning, July 25, 2017 after a brief illness. Margaret was born in Keene, NH on August 8, 1925, daughter of the late Norman C. and Jennie (Johnson) Chase. She graduated from Keene High School in 1943. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Royce C. Scarrell, who passed in 1978, and by her two brother's Carl Chase and Norman Chase both of Keene, NH. She will be sorely missed by her three children; Patricia E. Scarrell of Winchendon, MA, her sons; John C. Scarrell and his fiance' Kathleen Kwedor of Ashburnham, MA, Philip A. Scarrell and his wife Martha (Kwasizur) of Richmond, TX. Her three granddaughters; Jennifer L. Scarrell-Robillard of Bedford, NH, Krista M. Scarrell and her fiance' Curtis Jackson and Alexandra N. Scarrell all of Clayton, N.C. and her great granddaughter Kayleigh Robillard of Bedford, N.H.. Margaret worked for AT & T as a phone operator for several years. In 1962 she began working in the Winchendon School System, first in the cafeteria and the last several years as a custodian before her retirement in 1987. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and her great granddaughter. Margaret was a longtime member of the United Parish Church in Winchendon, MA and the Winchendon Garden Club. She was also an avid Red Sox fan. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the United Parish Church of Winchendon, 39 Front St. Calling hours are from 10-11AM with the service immediately following.
