ATHOL - Margaret A. (Deegan) Simonetti, 85 of Athol, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, Worcester, MA.
Margaret was born in Orange, MA, on December 10, 1931, the daughter of the late W .John Deegan and the late Lillian H (Dade) Deegan.
Margaret grew up in Orange and had lived all her live in the Athol / Orange area. She attended local schools and graduated from Orange High School.
She worked at the former Minute Tapioca Plant and Donelan’s in Orange and Bob & Lucy's in Athol. She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends. She and her husband Cleido enjoyed many years of traveling.
Margaret is survived by her twin brother: Peter Deegan and his wife Louine of Rochester, NY, several nieces and nephews and many friends. She also leaves her loving friend and long time caregiver: Angeline Mahoney.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years: Cleido E. Simonetti who passed in 2011; three sisters: Mary, Priscilla and Joan; two brothers: John and Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol, MA. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
There are no calling hours. Those attending the funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church.
