GARDNER - Margaret Louise (Brown) Sundnas, 88, formerly of 111 Conant Street, Gardner, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. She was born in Gardner on July 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Leon and the late Grace (Venning) Brown. Mrs. Sundnas was a lifelong resident of Gardner and attended Gardner High School. Many years ago she worked as a clerk for Grants and Parksnows. More recently Margaret was a homemaker who loved taking care of her home, children, husband and her mother Grace. She was a former member of the Chestnut Street United Methodist Church in Gardner. Margaret enjoyed going shopping and eating with her good friend, Grace Anderson, and with her sister-in-law, Evelyn White. She loved her little pug, Tuffy, whom she adored and missed dearly since his passing many years ago. Margaret enjoyed listening to big band music, bird-watching, gardening, flowers and the ocean. She leaves three daughters, Karen L. Ouellette, Marcia A. Jalbert, Donna G. Melatti and her husband Kip, all of Gardner; two granddaughters, Kimberly L. Ouellette of Sterling, Melissa G. Jalbert of Malden; one great granddaughter, Kiara G. Masso of Gardner; also many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-three years, Eskil B. "Joe" Sundnas on December 17, 1993, and by her son-in-law, Emile "Chewy" Ouellette, on May 4, 1995. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner. A calling hour will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Gardner Animal Shelter, 95 Pleasant St., Room 29, Gardner, MA 01440.
