Marian G Adams, 87, of Gardner MA passes away peacefully on Saturday, February 17th after a short illness.
She was born in Bourne MA on December 3, 1936, the daughter of the late Albert Irons and the late Mary (Enos) Irons. Marian was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her life. She worked for many years at C. H.
Hartshorn in Gardner and later at the Guild of St. Agnes as a teachers aide. She loved her job there and the children. For many years after she retired, students still came up to her in stores, saying hi to Miss Marian and giving her hugs.
In her early years, the love of her family shined from taking care of her first husband Richard until his passing in 1978. She also enjoyed playing Michigan Rummy with family, and cookouts at her sisters Nancy's, and Lucky's houses. In her middle years, she found and married the love of her life, Carl Adams, with whom she spent many a summer camping at Bourne, Scenic Park, and at Lake Dennison. They also enjoyed many trips to casinos. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting her cousin, Edie Hopkins, and her many friends where she lived, Marge, Millie, Shirley, Lorraine, and Ada.
She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters to whom she was a mentor and loving sister: Raymond, Carl, Anne, Nancy, Marjorie (Lucky), Albert (Buddy), Paul, and Lester. Her first husband, Richard K Meehan, in 1978, and her second husband, Carl E Adams in 2014.
Marian is survived by her daughter, Debra Hughes, and her husband, Kevin of Westminster, her two sons, Barry Meehan and his wife, Christine of Orange, Kenneth Meehan and his wife, Kathy of Kennedy, Alabama, her stepdaughter Chris (Cricket) Michaud and her husband Gerry of Gardner, and her cousin Edith Hopkins of Gardner, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Marian's name to The Guild of St. Agnes, at The Guild of St. Agnes, 353 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605
Marian's funeral will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. in the Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440. There will be a calling hour from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home before the funeral. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA 01440
