ATHOL-Marie Celeste (Guertin) Barron, 65 of Athol passed away December 31, 2021 at home after a brave battle with cancer. Celeste was born on March 25, 1956 in Gardner, Ma to the late Arthur and Helene (Lachance) Guertin, she was the youngest of eight children. Celeste grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1974. She married Gary Reynolds in 1975 and moved to Raymond, NH and Goochland, VA before returning to the area. She found love again in her second marriage, marrying James Barron in 2006. She enjoyed their trips to places like Lake George, but especially loved going to Parker’s Maple Barn for breakfast near her birthday. She had a knack for crafting, like learning shaker seat weaving and braiding rugs. She also had a strong passion for animals, raising many horses, dogs, and cats over the years. She worked multiple jobs, notably at GFA Credit Union for several years before finding her passion with dog grooming. Most recently she worked for Mount Tully Kennels in Orange, MA as a groomer. Celeste is survived by her husband: James Barron of Athol; her daughter: Melissa (Reynolds) Johnson and her husband Kristian and granddaughter Clara of Athol; step-daughters: Melissa Brown and her son of Chicopee, Tami Banas and her 3 children of Greenfield; siblings: Louise ((Guertin) Plamondon of Gardner, Alfred P. Guertin and his wife Margaret of York, ME, Andre E. Guertin and his wife Suzanne of Gardner, Michelle (Guertin) McAllister and her husband Richard of Winchendon and Jeanne (Guertin) Hushaw of Jaffrey, NH; many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her older sister Helene Anne (Guertin) Murphy and her older brother Arthur Paul Guertin. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA. Masks are required by order of the Orange Board of Health.
