ATHOL - Marie P. (MacDonald) Hale, 67 of 372 Exchange St, Athol, passed away on, Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Leominster Hospital.
She was born in Athol, on June 14, 1949, the daughter of the late John and Sylvia (Pollard) MacDonald.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, David C. Hale; her beloved son, Glenn Frenette and his wife Tonya and granddaughter Madeline Frenette of Lowell, her brother, John MacDonald and his companion Betty of South Deerfield, and her nieces and nephews.
Marie was educated in the Athol school system; she has been a resident of Athol her entire life. Marie was the proud owner of Marie's Precision Hair Styling & Tanning for over 25 years. Her passion of caring for others became her second career, as she worked as a CNA for Hearthside Healthcare and Catholic Charities. She was passionate for her cats and dog. Marie leaves her Cocker Spaniel, Lilly who she adored. In addition to her caring for others Marie was an avid reader, who enjoyed vacations in both Port Charlotte, Florida, and York Beach, ME. Marie was happiest when she was spending time with her family. Throughout Marie's life she took immense pride and joy attending her son's various sporting events and most recently enjoyed watching him coach her granddaughter in softball. Marie never missed a dance recital for her granddaughter, Madeline. Marie will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 9 a.m. in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 5-8pm in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Joslin Diabetes Foundation, Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
