Marie R. McNeil

Athol- Marie R. (Steele) McNeil, 93, formerly of Framingham and North Carolina, died Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Quabbin Valley Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Robert F. McNeil. Marie leaves a daughter, JoEllen Jones and her husband Harold of Orange; a son, Peter McNeil and his wife Alicia of NC; four grandchildren, Michael McNeil and his wife Kerrie of Framingham, Seth Letendre of FL, Danielle Letendre of NC and Courtney Coughlin and her husband Chris of Paxton; three great-grandchildren, John Coughlin of Paxton, Kylie McNeil and Katelyn McNeil both of Framingham. Marie also leaves behind her sister, Pam McGrath, of Ashland and her husband Jack, her niece Erin McGrath Phipps of Holliston and her husband Bill and her grand nephew Jack Phipps. She also leaves her cousins and many nieces and nephews. Marie is predeceased by two sons, Bobby in 1955 and Paul in 1986 and a daughter Pam in 2016. She was born in Natick, on April 10, 1929 a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Morris) Steele. She attended Natick High School and worked for Hanson Electric, in Framingham as a sales clerk. Marie enjoyed going to the beach, her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
