Marie Rose "Irene" Cote, 91
Leominster- Marie Rose "Irene" Cote, 91, of Leominster Lifecare Center, died Thursday, January 3.
She was born February 15, 1927 in Clinton MA, daughter of Pierre and Devina "Ruel" Fortier.
She lived most of her life in Leominster, then moved to Greenville, NH for 15 years, and then moved back to Leominster in 1994. She was a member of the Golden Age and Senior Travelers as a Co-Leader. She was a stitcher at the former Selig Manufacturing Co. and a member of St. Cecilia's Church.
She leaves 5 children, 2 daughters, Brenda Cote of Millsboro, DE, Catherine Cote Walsh of Daytona, FL; 3 sons, Michael P. Cote of Reno, NV, Peter C. Cote of Fitchburg, and Don R. Cote of Gardner; 6 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Her husband Jean Paul died in 1993.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, January 12, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery.
Irene's son, Peter, would like to personally extend his heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Lifecare Center. As a resident for the past five years, they cared for Irene with compassion, kindness, and love, making it truly feel like home for her. For that, he will forever be grateful.
