Marilyn Louise (Bond) Gionet

    FITCHBURG  – Marilyn L. Gionet, 82, of Fitchburg, passed away Thursday August 23, 2012 in The Highlands Long Term Care Center surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born on July 15, 1930 in Fitchburg, the daughter of the late Arthur Bond and Mary (Mitchell) Bond and lived in the Shirley and Leominster area for many years. She worked as a housekeeper in her earlier years at Leominster Hospital, later working at Mohawk Wire and Cable, and then retiring from the E.B. Kingman Co. where she worked as a quality control inspector. Marilyn was a member of St. Cecilia’s Church, and an Auxiliary Member of The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #439 of Leominster in her younger years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, music and spending time with all of her children and grandchildren. Marilyn leaves behind one son, Leonard Gionet of Fitchburg, two daughters, Barbara Vachon and her husband Donald of Westminster, and Thea Griffin and her husband John of Leominster, two sisters Rita Devarney of Shirley and Elaine Denoncourt of Florida, Two sisters- in- law Jeannette Gionet of Florida and Gisela Gionet of Pennsylvania. Eight grandchildren: Randy Vachon,  Pamela Sutela, Christopher Gionet, Tobi Racine, Brian Vachon, Shelley Brennan, Jamie Griffin, Kerrie  Griffin, Nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Gionet, who died in 1970, two brothers Arthur Bond Jr. and Donald Bond, two sisters, Claire Denoncourt and Doris Bond.  The family would like to thank the entire dedicated and compassionate staff at The Leominster Crossing and at The Highlands for their special care and attention for the past four years of Marilyn’s life. Calling hours will be held on August 31, 2012 from 9:30am – 11:30am with a memorial service at 11:30am in the Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to make a donation to one’s choice in Marilyn’s name. T   $(document).ready(function(){ });
