ATHOL - Marilyn E. Earley, age 96, of Leominster died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Lifecare Center of Leominster of Leominster, MA. Marilyn was born November 30, 1918 in Royalston, MA. She is the daughter of the late Myron and the late Iva Belle (Bryant) Stockwell. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Earley on 1983.
She grew up in Royalston and lived in Peterborough from 1932 to 1940, graduating from Peterborough High School in 1936 and since 1940 has resided in Athol.
Marilyn worked as the cafeteria director for the Athol-Royalston School District for 25 years retiring in 1981.
She was a member of A.A.R.P., the Athol Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and worked in the Glass Shelf Gift Shop at the hospital. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid knitter and bowler.
She is survived by one daughter: Maxine Watson of Oklahoma City, OK and two sons: Richard “Jake” B. Earley and his wife Rose of Leominster, Wayne M. Earley and his wife Debbie of Celebration, FL; she also has ten grandchildren; Kathy, Craig, Tricia, Diana, Doug, Jason, Ben, Mark, Nicholas and Eric, and 12 great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Bryant and Mahlon Stockwell, and brother-in-law, Gary Watson.
The funeral will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00am at Higgin's O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol, MA with Rev. James Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10am.
