Marilyn J. (Kingsbury) Parker

July 19, 1930 — February 23, 2015

Marilyn J. Parker Orange – Marilyn J. (Kingsbury) (French) Parker, 84, of North Main Street, died Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Applewood Home for the Elders.      Marilyn was born July 19, 1930 in Keene, NH, the daughter of Sheldon E. and Evelyn (Richards) Kingsbury.  She grew up and lived in Athol most of her life, attending Athol schools and graduating from Athol High School. She also lived in North Orange for many years where she raised her family.        Marilyn was a homemaker raising her five children and also worked at the Union Twist Drill, the Rodney Hunt Company, the Athol-Clinton Cooperative Bank and the Walmart store where she was a greeter for 12 years.  She enjoyed singing in church choirs in past years, including South Athol and North Orange, was also a charter member of the Jumptown Twirlers square dance club and enjoyed painting many types of artwork.        She leaves her five children, Judith (French) Pollard and her husband James of Athol, Dane R. Parker and his wife Pam of Kittery Point, ME, Sherri Parker of Chicago, IL, Terry Parker, Sr. and his wife Cheryl of  Orange and Lois Parker-Carmona and her husband Al of Pelham, NH; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Pollard) Collins, Meegan (Pollard) Erving,  James Schmick, Stephanie Parker, Christin Schmick, Terry Parker, II, Jana (Schmick) Allen, Suzanne (Parker) Costain and Stephanie (Chase) Fox and ten great grandchildren.  Besides her parents she was predeceased bytwo brothers, Ronald and Raymond Kingsbury and a sister Lorraine (Kingsbury) Weeks.      Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Athol-Orange Baptist Church, corner of Church and Walnut Streets, Athol with the Rev. Mark D. Bariloni, pastor officiating.  A family burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery and calling hours will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made in Marilyn’s name to: the Gardner VNA Hospice, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA  01440 or the Franklin County Home Care Corp., 330 Montague City Road, Montague, MA  01376.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
