Marion E. Bartlett

LANCASTER - Marion E. (Delno) Bartlett, 88 of 111 Langen Road, Lancaster, died peacefully Sunday, December 17, 2006, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, on August 15, 1918, the daughter of the late Burton R. and the late Flora (Brosman) Delno. Marion was raised in Milwaukee and Detroit. She attended the secretarial program at Detroit City College. She was a civilian worker for the Army Air Corps during World War II assigned to the Judge Advocate Generals Office. Marion moved to Lancaster in June of 1945. She was employed with her husbands family business the former W.W. Bartlett & Son Company in Leominster for many years. She was also employed as the administrative assistant to the president of the former Van Brode Milling Company of Clinton. She was a member of the Unitarian Church of Lancaster where she taught Sunday school for several years. She was a former member of the Lancaster Current Topics Club and a former member of the Lancaster Republican Committee. She leaves one daughter; Meredith E. Bartlett and her children Marissa Gabel and Madeline Gabel all of Stow, MA; four sons, David W. Bartlett with whom she lived with of Lancaster, William W. Bartlett and his wife Cheryl and their children William Bartlett II, Eric Bartlett and Lindsey Bartlett all of Lancaster; Daniel S. Bartlett and his wife Ann and their children Nicholas Bartlett and Hillary Bartlett all of Leominster; one brother, Burton F. Delno of Detroit, MI; one brother in-law, Gregory Joers of Greensdale, WI; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Wendell P. Bartlett who died October 7, 2005 and by her sister, Jean Joers of Greensdale, WI. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2006, at 12:00 pm in the M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster. Burial will be private at a later date. A calling hour will be held Thursday, December 21, 2006, from 11 am - 12 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210 or to the VNA Care Hospice Inc. 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
